Liberalist Centre Welcomes New Advisory Board Members

The Liberalist Centre has taken a significant step forward in its institutional development with the appointment of a distinguished Advisory Board. The new board members are Olufemi Ogunjobi, Kemi Busari and Anna Suberu. These professionals bring decades of combined experience in policy, media, communications, and leadership that will guide the Centre’s mission to promote freedom and prosperity in Africa.

Olufemi Ogunjobi, appointed Chairman of the Board, is a globally respected leader in strategic communications and leadership development. He currently heads the Prometheus Fellowship Program, the flagship initiative of Students For Liberty that cultivates elite leaders from over 45 countries. With over eight years of experience, Olufemi has built and managed high-level partnerships with more than 20 globally renowned institutions, including the CATO Institute, Atlas Network, the Institute for Justice, the Institute of Economic Affairs (London), and the Parliament of Canada.

Olufemi has trained over 2,000 student leaders across 32 countries in classical liberal ideas, economic freedom, and good governance. A graduate of executive programs at Lagos Business School and King’s College London, he also holds fellowships with Young Voices and the Common Sense Society and is a member of the George Ayittey Society.

Joining him is Kemi Busari, a widely respected Nigerian investigative journalist. Currently the Editor of DUBAWA, Kemi leads fact-checking efforts across West Africa to combat information disorder and misinformation. His work has empowered thousands of journalists through training in media literacy, investigative reporting, and the use of freedom of information laws.

Kemi’s journalism has earned him numerous accolades, including the AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Award, the Michael Elliot Award for African Storytelling, the Han Verploeg Award, and the Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting. With degrees from Obafemi Awolowo University and Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Kemi’s editorial vision continues to inspire a new generation of African journalists.

Anna Suberu, a dynamic strategist and advocate for peace, freedom, and economic development, completes the board as a third member. Anna currently serves as Alumni Engagement Associate at Students For Liberty, where she leads alumni strategy, communications, and community building. She is recognized internationally for her leadership, having been named one of 25 Under 25 by iKapture in 2020, and is a past ambassador of the prestigious European Forum Alpbach.

Anna’s professional recognitions include several Atlas Network awards, most recently for her achievements in strategic planning and fundraising. She is a member of multiple global networks, including the Bosch Alumni Network and the Africa Alpbach Network, and continues to contribute to freedom-focused initiatives across borders.

Abdullah Tijani, the Executive Director of the Liberalist Centre, expressed his excitement about the appointments. He said with this board in place, the organization is poised for a new chapter anchored in thought leadership and a deep commitment to a freer, more prosperous society.

“We’re proud to welcome Olufemi, Kemi and Anna to our Advisory Board. Each of them brings a unique strength from global leadership, community engagement, and media. Their collective experience will help us sharpen our strategy and expand our reach,” he said.
