Abuja, Nigeria.
The Liberalist Centre has launched applications for the 2025 Journalism for Liberty Fellowship (JLF). This fellowship programme equips mid-career journalists and media professionals with the skills to advance liberty, free markets, and limited government through impactful and investigative storytelling.
As one of Africa’s leading pro-freedom fellowships, the Journalism for Liberty Fellowship aims to build a new generation of journalists committed to promoting pro-freedom ideas, exposing government excesses and advocating for policies that protect individual liberties. The fellowship also helps journalists craft compelling narratives on economic freedom and policy impacts.
Through this initiative, the Liberalist Centre fosters a freedom-oriented approach to media narratives, driving impactful discussions on governance, economic policies, and civil liberties across Africa.
Since its inception, the Journalism for Liberty Fellowship has trained over 140 journalists, equipping them with the tools to produce high-quality investigative reports on pressing issues around excessive taxation and regulatory barriers, government inefficiencies and corruption, property rights, and economic freedom.
The programme’s success makes it a premier platform for liberty-focused journalism. Our growing alumni network continues to make meaningful contributions in newsrooms across Africa, demonstrating the impactful potential of pro-freedom reporting.
With generous support from Atlas Network and Whetstone Freedom Fund, the Liberalist Centre will give 20 selected fellows $100 each to produce investigative reports focusing on individual freedom and free markets.
The Liberalist Centre invites mid-career journalists and media professionals from Nigeria, Kenya and Zambia, particularly those passionate about individual liberty, free markets and limited government to apply for its 2025 Journalism for Liberty Fellowship.
